Enviros Seek Plastic Bag Ban And Fees In New York
Environmental advocates said they delivered a petition to Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office on Wednesday advocating a version of a plastic bag ban that would include fees that are absent from the proposal put forward in April by the governor’s office.
Representatives for groups that include Riverkeeper and the Sierra Club Atlantic Chapter said they delivered a petition with 5,000 signatures in support of a proposal that would halt the distribution of single-use plastic bags and put in place a fee on alternative bags.
