Honoring Mike Gallant: An IMFA Fellow
Recognizing Long-Term Impact in Molded Fiber
The IMFA Fellow Award recognizes individuals whose leadership, technical expertise, and long-term service have made a lasting impact on both the molded fiber industry and the IMFA community. It is a distinction earned over time through consistent contribution, collaboration, and a commitment to advancing the industry.
This year, IMFA is proud to recognize Mike Gallant as a Fellow.
From Naval Engineering to Molded Fiber Leadership

Mike’s path to molded fiber began well before he entered the industry. After graduating from the Royal Military College with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, he spent 13 years in the Canadian Navy as a Marine Systems Engineering Officer, building a strong technical foundation early in his career.
In 1996, he joined CKF Incorporated as a Maintenance Supervisor, beginning a 28-year journey in molded fiber manufacturing. Over time, he advanced through a series of increasingly complex roles, from Maintenance Manager and Plant Engineer to Director of Pulp Engineering and Lead Director of Engineering. Each role expanded his expertise in operations, systems, and manufacturing, ultimately leading to his current position as Vice President of Engineering (Fiber).
Today, Mike helps lead molded fiber operations across CKF facilities in Nova Scotia, British Columbia, Iowa, and Texas, contributing to a company legacy that dates back to 1933. His peers widely recognize him as a trusted engineering leader whose impact is measured by consistency and results.
A Steady Leader in the IMFA Community
Mike’s long-standing involvement with IMFA reflects the same steady, reliable approach that has defined his career. His connection to the association began in 2005, and he has been a regular presence at conferences since 2010. Over the years, he has contributed through committee service and, more recently, Board participation, helping strengthen the organization through thoughtful engagement and a willingness to contribute.
He is not someone who seeks the spotlight; he consistently shows up and adds value. That kind of contribution is built over time and is foundational to the IMFA community's strength.
A Deserving Recognition
Mike’s impact has been shaped by years of commitment, collaboration, and quiet leadership. It is exactly the kind of contribution the IMFA Fellow Award is meant to recognize, and it is what makes this honor so well deserved.
